Operations

The mission of GATES is to provide a coordinated system of supports for member organizations which will influence public policy, raise awareness and enhance services to persons with disabilities and other barriers to independence.

GATES is a statewide association representing community rehabilitation providers (CRPs) that serve people with disabilities and other barriers to employment. GATES is governed by a ten member Board of Directors, which meets quarterly. GATES is an association of members, not a governing body of CRPs. Each CRP is operated as an independent non-profit corporation. Our CRPs offer the full spectrum of services to people throughout Georgia, including individuals with cognitive, emotional or physical disabilities, and some specialized programs for people with developmental disabilities, mental illness, deaf and/or persons with hearing loss, blind and low vision, in addition to traumatic brain injuries. Collectively, GATES member agencies are instrumental in assisting participants toward full integration into the community and competitive employment.
